THE SURF

Popoyo and the surrounding coastline offer a range of consistent, high-quality waves suited to intermediate and advanced surfers, with multiple breaks working in different conditions.

With access to a variety of setups along the coast, you can focus on positioning, timing, and making the most of each session.

Warm water year-round, consistent swell, and reliable offshore winds mean clean, quality waves are on offer most days.

THE rooms

Our rooms are designed to be a calm, comfortable retreat after a day in the ocean or exploring Popoyo. Thoughtfully styled with natural textures and warm tones, each space feels grounded and comfortable.

Private terraces invite in natural light and ocean breezes, creating a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. Whether you’re waking up to the sound of the waves or winding down after sunset, the atmosphere is peaceful and restorative.

All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, hot water rain showers, and high-quality, comfortable beds to ensure a restful night’s sleep. We offer flexible configurations with king, queen, or single beds, making them ideal for solo travellers, couples, or shared retreat stays.

Our recovery space is designed to help you reset between sessions, with a sauna and ice bath ideal for post-surf recovery.

  • We host a range of group sizes, from small private groups to full property buyouts, up to 32 pax. Get in touch with your details and we’ll recommend the best setup for your group.

  • Absolutely. All group experiences are fully flexible — from surf and wellness to adventure and downtime. We design everything around your group’s preferences.

  • Yes, we offer surf lessons for beginners as well as guided sessions for intermediate and advanced surfers. We’ll match your group with the best waves based on level and conditions.

  • Packages typically include accommodation, three daily meals, airport transfers, daily yoga, and access to sauna and ice bath. Additional experiences like excursions, spa treatments, and private sessions can be added.

  • Depending on your group size and booking, we can offer partial or full buyouts for a more private experience.

  • We completely understand that plans can change. For our package bookings, a 50% deposit is required to secure your stay. While this deposit is non-refundable, we’re happy to apply it toward a future stay within one year of your original booking date (subject to availability).

    If you need to cancel:

    • More than 1 month before arrival: your deposit can be transferred to a future stay.

    • Less than 1 month before arrival: the deposit is forfeited.

    • Less than 1 week before arrival: the full booking amount is forfeited.

  • Yes. We can arrange transfers from Managua or Liberia airports. Many guests also choose to fly into Costa Rica (Liberia) and travel to Popoyo from there.

  • We offer a pool, fully equipped yoga and pilates spaces, sauna, ice bath, and a range of spa treatments including massages and holistic therapies.

  • Popoyo has consistent surf year-round. Smaller, more beginner-friendly waves are most common from November to April. From May to September, the swell increases and waves get bigger, but Beginner’s Bay remains surfable and is still a great option for learning, with more protected and manageable conditions.
